"You can't get much more heartfelt than Taylor" Declan Byrne
"Made to consume in the dark” Claire Mooney
Melbourne's Taylor Piggott has being moving the Melbourne music scene with his nostalgic and captivating lyrics as well as interweaving vocal melodies to create moments that hit close to home. His soul soothing vibes are both dreamy and heartfelt.
Tays first release in late 2018, 'Dreams' had him soaring to number one on the Triple J Unearthed charts. Today, Taylor announces his follow up track, 'All That We Were'. This track was written at a low point in his life, suffering with depression and anxiety and the struggles of allowing an ex-partner back into his life. "This song is about hitting your lowest point, and wondering, did they ever get this low too?"
'All That We Were' and 'Dreams' feature on Taylor's upcoming two-part EP, with 'Morpheus Part 1' set for release later in 2019. Morpheus is a dive into the subconscious state, and how incredible our mind can be, yet also deceiving and unforgiving. Of the upcoming EP, Taylor notes "These songs were written at a time where I was in a bad space, having terrible sleep - reoccurring dreams, insomnia, sleep paralysis.
These songs were written in a way of dealing with that time."
To celebrate the launch of 'All That We Were', Taylor will hold a second single launch event at The Gasometer Hotel on Saturday June 1st. A wait list is available for media interested.
